The municipality of Smolenice in Slovakia lacked a leisure zone where all generations could meet. They wanted to create a community space where small children, teenagers, and adults could play, relax, or simply sit together and chat. For this purpose, the municipality allocated a triangular grassy area surrounded by roads and residential buildings.
We designed a leisure zone here, consisting of a playground with a net swing, climbing structures, climbing elements, and a small zipline. It also includes a parkour section for teenagers and special game benches that can be used for sitting or playing chess. One bench’s backrest even features an interactive, hand-painted traffic-themed game for the youngest children.
A similar leisure zone could be created using several standard components, but each would look different, and the overall result might lack cohesion. Based on our architects’ designs, all parts form a compact, unified design. All elements share similar geometric shapes and are harmonized with a simple yellow color, which highlights wood as the primary construction material.
